How much weight do you actually save by going to non-run flats? I hear people mention the Michelin PS2s are real light, but high light are they?

thanks

I just changed from 16"'s to my 17" winter wheels and by just "feeling" the weight I would guess there some 4 kgs difference each! That totals 16 and you?re not far from the extra spare + jack...

By the way, the comfort issue with the RF's is not exaggerated! My 19's are more comfy than these.

Was just on a fact finding mission yesterday with regard to tire weights.

The Dunlop RFTs on my car weigh 29 lbs each. Non-runflat of the same tire is 26 lbs. 12 lb delta. Not a lot to worry about. Worry about losing the "spare tire" I'd say.

Tirerack.com has weights for pretty much all of the tires in question. Just check there. The Bridgestone RFTs are 31 lbs, same tire in non-RFT is 28 lbs. Goodyear F1 GS-2 EMT runflats weigh 28 lbs each.

Some other non-runflat weights:

PS2 - 24 lbs
ContiSport Contact 2 - 23 lbs

All quoted weights are for 245/40 18"
