A guy at our euro meet has a euro plate. He has been driving around with it for 2 years without much problems. Hes been pulled over before but never got a ticket, he has it on his e30.

My Ride: 2005 530i Premium Package
I've seen german plates under US plates before. Looks weird with two plates installed but I guess if you wanted to show off the german plates you can just remove the US plates pretty easily.
