I just installed Eibachs prokit and it cost me $450 plus tax, my tires have about 20% left in tread wear so I did not align it until i get new tires. BTW the car does not pull anywhere and feels great!

Ah, ok. Thanks. I'm figuring based on what you say and what ECF says, I'm looking at around $300-$400. Now I just need to find a place.

It should cost $150-250 for labor. They simply remove the wheel, unscrew a latch from your trunk and front hood, remove the shock and piece that holds the wheel in place, replace the spring (10 seconds), and then reinstall everything. In a way, it seemed to take the same labor time as replacing tires and rebalancing them on a hunter machine.

I had my car aligned at Firestone tire yesterday for $100 for a lifetime alignment. I am not sure if they adjusted the camber and toe (which is the whole purpose for the alignment) because they did it in only 20 minutes. They also stated that they could not provide me a printout of the new specs because they forgot to do it while the machine was on.

If I see any strange tire wear, I will use the lifetime alignment deal to ask them to do it again while I watch.

cost me $200 to do the spring and shock install, plus another $100 for alignment at a different shop. i watched the tech did it in about 2 hours.
lifetime alignment for $100? that is really good. the shop i went to take about 40 mins for an alignment, he print out the specs for me but don't remember off hand. i think he gets most of them back in spec except for the rear wheel (camber or toe), since there's no adjustment (camber or toe, i forgot...) in the back

monacobmw, glad to see everything works out for you! just in time for the holidays =)

Total of $300 for labor (Including realignment and the possible realignment after a month or so, once the springs "Settle"). The place was called speed... something, in Austin, TX. Nice shop, the guy is very knowledgeable about BMWs too

This is great. Now I just need to find a place that will swap them for $200 in NY. I think I'll go to a Firestone for the realignment. $100 for a lifetime sounds pretty good.

Hey - what springs are you going to use on your xi? Where'd you get them, how much, etc. etc. Enquiring minds want to know!!!!!

How much drop are you expecting?

Are you planning on installing the M-Tech kit?

Hamann. They are the only company that sells them for the xi. I ordered direct from the company. Paid a little more than your standard springs here in the US, but that's mainly because the dollar sucks compared to the Euro.
