how much power?
#1
I'm curious about about how much power my 535i makes, so I'll be on the dyno this afternoon.
I'll probably disconnect the intake box and see if that makes any type of gaines with the stock configuration.

will do. I'm going to cross reference boost as well and air/fuel by welding in an o2 bung into the exhaust.
back in a few hours.

That was a fun afternoon.
I have a 535i with SAT.
On a dynojet, we made 264whp @ 7.5psi.
I took the airfilter box off and made another 6hp, however, almost 16ft.lbs. of torque more.
I can't say for sure if the intakes really make that much hp/tq. if the hood was closed, however, since there's no airflow on a dyno, I imagine that driving on the street the power gain is a little higher.
I also had a chance to look at the exhaust system and take a few measurements.
Tomorrow, when I get to work, I'll calculate the fluid volume of the OEM exhaust and the way it's merged together.

I think that's pretty common to see, an increase shown with airbox removal on open-hood dynos. Definitely a worthwhile mod if you normally drive around with no hood.
The boost tapers off at the top. Next week, I'm going to add some boost and try again.
