My Ride: Now Driving a Freakin' Prius!
Was...
2004 545i | SMG | White/Black | Sport | NAV | Logic 7 | PDC | Fold-down Seats | Adaptive Headlights | Cold Weather Pkg | Clear-again Bra | Mud Flaps | Bluetooth | Coat Hangar | Aux Input | All Weather Mats | 18"X8.5" BBS RK w/ Michelin Pilot Alpin's (winter) | New steering rack @ 1.2K & 17K miles| Software V.19.1 | B&B Exhaust (vrrrroooooommm!) <---Click.
I've complained about the lack of LSD a few months back (no, not beewang's kind). I was amazed to find that it didn't have it. It makes it very difficult (read unpredictable) in the white stuff. Not to mention it would really help with "accelleration assist" once the tires begin to wear.
Looks like I'll need to put my name on the M5 list.

Ahh, OK.? I drive in dry warm southern california.? I assumed that the DTC was infact replacing the limited slip.? I have little experience with snow but would assume that if you disable DSC you have DTC which will do what you need in snow.

DTC or whatever is just a really crap way of trying to achieve the effect of an LSD. It brakes the spinning wheel and then redirects power to the other wheel. More often than not, it slows you down more than it helps you. I found it way difficult to get the car moving from a stop during the snowstorm that hit Toronto last week. LSD is an option even on the little lexus IS300...why not on our BMWs that cost nearly 2x more? I'm sure getting the whole DTC program to work cost more than fitting a LSD...

My Ride: 2004 545i 6spd, blk on blk, HRE 540R 20x9 in front and 20x10 in rear with Pirelli PZero Neros 245/25/20 front and 295/25/20 rear. H&R springs, and Eisenmann quad exhaust, V! radar detector, black grille, limo tint all around.
I'm definitely interested in getting an LSD from Quaife, even though I live in Socal where its nice and warm... I actually emailed them a couple months back and they never responded to my email. But hey, if you can get them on the horn and find out how much it'll cost to pick up an LSD from Quaife, I'm definitely interested. I can have a lot more fun in my e60 then. Please keep me posted!
