I'm wondering if any of the rims on Ebay that are "knock-off's" of hartge's or M5 replicas are any good. (Beyond what we already know and talk about over and over and over again about how they SOMETIMES have issues with spacing, etc).
I just wonder if it's possible to get any of these rims (they're such a good deal and look / made authentic).
Your opinions are VERY VALUABLE to me! I need to purchase THIS WEEK!!
Thanks Gents.

The first thing I did when I bought my E60 was get replica 166. I had vibrating issues even with the hub centrintic rings. DONT DO IT. IT was a nightmare. Luckily SonicMS (Carlabs) took the wheels back and credit me my money back. I went ahead and bought OEM 166. Drivng was much better. Between reps and OEM there is a difference of $700. Call Gary over at BMW Rhode Island. He is on the "parts and accessories" page. I paid $1642 shipped to CA rims only.

I work with a guy that purchased some style 172 replica wheels from "Wheels and Caps" (ebay seller). He is very happy with them so far. We put his replicas up against my OEMs and it's very hard to see any difference.
How they hold up over time may be the big difference, but he says they ride great, and they fit perfectly without any spacer rings. They come like the OEM version 19 X 8.5 front w/16mm off-set and 19 X 9.5 rear w/32mm off-set.
It sure didn't seem like a mistake from my perspective, because he got four for the price I paid for one of mine ($579 for all four). With UHP tires the total was $1,400.

My M5 166's have been fine as far as vibration. Had to do an emergency evasive manuever and got a bit of curb rash on the front and to a lessor degree the rear right side wheels. Wheels shop said around $200 to repair. Note these are for sale as I purchased some 167's because I liked the look better. PM if any interest.

Check out www.velocitymotoring.com
They make excellent quality replicas. I received my CSL VB-3 19's a week ago, and all I can say is "Oh so sweet." Cmansbimmer has them too...check out his Gallery. Ask for Gideon if you call. They can do entire wheel, tire and TPM's for you, balanced and shipped to your door. They don't mark up the tires or TPM's either, and they order them for Tirerack. Now all I have to do is get my H&R springs on so I can actually INSTALL my wheels! Good luck.

I have 18" M6 replicas on my E60. I bought them from Modbargains.com. they look really nice, i had some vibration problems at the begining but then they sent me the hub rings and that took care of the problem, i'm sure i can get a smoother ride with OEMs and i also noticed that they easily get scrached but i only paid about $650 and i don't expect to keep them forever. Here's the link. http://www.modbargains.com/product.a...=Miro_Type_346
thanks
