AGree! I've been trying to get basic info like which muffler brand (Borla, MagnaFlow, etc) and specific sizes (4x9x14?, 5x11*18?, etc) and pipe diameters, hangers and such. I don't just want to go dump it at a custom muffler shop and hope for the best... Maybe some of the quad guys can help us?

Here is a side-by-side comparison between a 545/550 RDSport quad exhaust and M5 RDSport quad exhaust. Note how the tips on the 545i has to move about one inch to the left and right. The main problem is moving the right-sided tips over. The left isn't too much of a problem. Yes, the tips on the 545i is larger than the M5 tips. I believe they're 90mm.

There is NO fitment issue with the RDSport quad on 545/550 with M5 rear bumper. It's just a matter of preference. I don't see anything wrong with what Vegas has but he doesn't like the gap on the outsides of the tips and prefer that it's spreadout more like the set up I have on the M5. I think that's a personal preference issue and not a fitment issue.

Everything will fit fine. If you really want to move it then it'll be a challenge as the muffler on the right side is tightly squeezed between the spare tire and battery compartments. I think one option is to cut off the RDSport tips and weld on custom ones that will curve a bit outwards.

I don't think it would be that complicated to go to a muffler shop and have them do measurements and provide inputs but yeah, it'll definitely be easier for someone who's done it already to give you all the details to give it to your local shop.

As for off the shelf parts, use one of the quad systems mentioned by Vegas and get an M Tech Kit and then decide on either a Hamann diffuser, 3D diffuser, or AC Schnitzer custom quad diffuser (I think MStyle in UK has it). Or get the M5 rear bumper. Those should all work fine with any of the quad systems you choose, whether off the shelf or custom.

Too late. I've pointed it out to them already.

Why, yes I am. Which looks better? Same car, 545i, and same exhaust, RDSport quad for the 545/550.

IMO the centered tips on the 545/550 look better than the M5 setup. VT , sound clip in the works? I can't wait til Malibu.

See VT. Your set up looks better than mine. Stick with it. You can spend your time worrying about other mods and stop dwelling on this one.

Nope. You'll have to wait and see my mods on July 14th. Some you know, some you don't.
