i have the factory wires (left side trunk) spliced into a jl audio clean sweep. from the sweep the outputs go to a alpine 5 chanenel amp. 4 channels powring the highs(aftermarket)75x4 and the 5th channel running the 2 underseat speakers(aftermarket)300x1 150x2 i use the 5 channel amps preout to run another amp for the subwoofer in the trunk

New to this??? take it to an audio shop and have them hook it up using the correct gauge wires. It will cost you less in the long run and it will be done right.

Yer new to BMW and splicing into cables as all of my other cars I have put in full systems with new head unit with RCA outputs built in! I'm an electrictian so I know what I'm doing with wires ect. And I don't want to take it to a audio place as I want to do it my self as part of the fun! Just need to know what cars to spice (colour) and where they are located!

Thanks for your help

These are the wires you will tap into on your stock amp in the trunk;

Left + Black/Red
Left - Black/Violet
Right + Black/White
Right - Black/Brown
On/Off White/Violet

You do not need a line out converter, just strip the ends of your RCA cables and splice them into a left and right sub source listed above. I did this last weekend and it worked.
