If you look under the headlight switch, there is a little compartment for storage. I have a 2005 545i but I don't have this compartment. Do any of the 05ers have this? Is it possible to retrofit it? Anyone happen to have a part number? I find storage in my car to be quite minimal. Need some where to stick my wallet when i get in the car.

My '05 545i doesn't have it either. I thought no US cars had it. Anybody know the part number?

This compartment is not available on US cars.
The DOT doesn't allow it. Instead, you get more padding behind the cover in this place, so that your knee gets a little more protection in case of an accident.
So I don't think a retrofit is legal...
Anyways, this compartment is changed from beginning of March on. It is a closed compartment then, so that the stuff can't fall out.

Is this just BMW not allow by DOT? I even have little console in Honda Accord.. which is half the price of BMW.. why isn't BMW have it?.. space can be used for good purposes..
