By 'connecting', what are you trying to accomplish? Bluetooth functionality? displaying video on iDrive screen? Streaming music? Charging only?

1. add an auxiliary input to your existing iDrive, and stream music through your phone (pandora, spotify, etc)

----or-----

2. add an aftermarket interface to your iDrive (Dension, modmynav, etc)

Thanks KyleB

Dension is very Expensive (more than 700$).. modmynav is for LCI only ,, any links would be very useful

modmynav is available for pre-LCI and LCI. price is the same.

If all you're concerned with is music, then the OEM aux input is probably your best (and cheapest) bet.

good luck with the car.

Get yourself an auxiliary input adapter for about $65. There are many DIY instructions for installing the kit. Alternatively, pay someone to do it for you.

Then purchase a bluetooth receiver. I bought this one for $25 and it works very well-
