My Ride: 528xi
Model Year: 2008
Default

Well, I'm finally putting up a couple of pics....I know my pics are nothing like many of the awesome examples on this forum, but I just started working on my jet black '08 528xi this summer. So far: staggered set of Avant Garde M310's wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact DWS, black kidney grills, RPI scoop, 10w angel eyes, yellow fogs, chromed side bulb markers,35% tint all around.
YES I know she needs a drop.....KW V3's are something I need to save for. Doesn't seem like that will happen till next spring, unfortunately. Also looking to make it a bit peppier with the BMS Power Box for the N52 and possibly getting a new exhaust to make it sound better...still debating on if I want to do Mtech front/rear or keep it fairly stock with a few exterior add-ons: side skirts, roof & trunk spoilers, LCI front lip.
Finally want to thank Nerwyll(Nerweezy) over at Trinity, and Frank over at ModBargains for all their help with my initial mods....also want to thank THIS community for all the valuable, unselfish wealth of information that has been provided to me(even though many of it seemed over my head). All I can say to those who are looking to find solutions to problems or mod their 5'ers(because why else would you truly be here unless you felt the need to "make yours different from theirs"?)is research as much as you can through the forums....ok, I'll get off my soap box now.....Thanks everybody!

My Ride: Platingrau Metallic 2009 535i xDrive

Just got the Mtech front and skirts put on. Here are some shots of my ride all covered in dew after a long night of work. Next mod is to drop it some. K&R plus some shocks or straight coil-overs. We'll see!

Crappy iphone cam is all I had

Sorry i have a few questions...

Is the ride that bad? I'm not prepared to spend 2500 on some V3s. I see people posting about how bouncy it is and how easy it is to bottom out... I mean, it's not going to ride like a civic with sports springs...(or is it?) How's the handling and clearance? (I'm coming from a G35 with Tein coilovers slammed to the lowest coil w/ some volks 19x9.5 w/35 series tires and 19x10.5 w/30 series tires)

I'm not totally sure on the ride height, but from my understanding the xDrives are .5 inches higher than the standard and the sport suspension sit about .7 inches lower than the standard. With the H&R sports springs, it should theoretically sit just a hair lower than the factory sport suspension on the RWD correct?

I'm asking these questions because i need to make a quick decision. I just bought a 2010 AW 535i m sport... but it was totaled 6 days later... I need a car aspa and the only available cars atm w/ an m sport pkg is black or space gray. I would prefer black but i'm worry about the suspension because it is an xDrive.

if anybody wants to chime in, please do so. the more i know the better i can make my decision

also i live in the greater seattle area, if any xDrives are around the area with H&R sports and wouldn't mind giving me a quick demo i would really appreciate it!!!
