Hi
I can list places in England where you can get the equipment at almost trade prices.
Alternatively, it may be possible for me to get things on your behalf.
I'll look into this in a few hours time because I've got to go out to see a certain film now...
Petri:? I'll let you know the locations of the terminals etc..
All the Best

How is this 30G terminal thing ? Somethink to do with the numbers in the fuse diagram ? Is it located in the trunk only ? I'd like to have something similar in the gloves box... (I'd rather not want start setting the wires from the trunk to the front)

Amazing job. The last time I took a car apart like that was a 2 year old '68 Pontiac GTO. I lost that kind of guts and expertise with age, new technology, and a much more expensive + sophisticated car. My hat's off to you!

Hi! Did you? I looked in my inbox and I only have 2, one about costs and the other for Zymol, both of which I replied too...
Sorry about that! What were the questions again?

Hi Petri..
Terminal 30G can be found all over the place. I notice that you have a 525 Touring, so the wiring in your car is slightly different to the regular E60 cars.
From what you have written so far, you want to install the interface in the dashboard behind the iDrive screen, and you want your source inputs to be in the glovebox, correct??
Can you tell me what inputs (DVD player...) you intend to have in the glovebox? The reason for this question is purely to see how much power you want because you will need to derive it from a Terminal 30G connection that has enough power without blowing the fuses!
Let me know to as much detail as what you want to do and I can then find you the best place to tap into the car's power.
All the Best

Hi Petri again
From your first post on this topic, you said something about putting the interface in the space where the CD Changer is.
Do you NOT have a CD CHanger then???
The interface that is on offer by Dominic on the group buy does NOT have long enough cables to go to the glovebox. This version of the interface is small enough to fit right behind the iDrive screen. You would then run video cables to your sources in the glovebox.
You also need to think about where you will put the infrared receiver 'eye' for the interface. It is a very small thing with 3 wires coming out of it and it connects to a socket on the interface box. The wire is about 50 cm long ONLY!!!
I would suggest that this eye could by mounted on the iDrive screen itself, where I mounted my Xantech receiver. Don't worry, you won't have to do anything to the iDrive screen at all. There are slots in the plastic at the top and you will be able to poke this infrared receiver through one of the slots.
