I just learned of a gas station on Long Island that sells: 100 Octane, 110 Octane and 116 Octane. The 116 is sold in canisters, as I guess it's illegal to sell that high a grade of fuel at the pump... 100 and 110 is sold at an actual pump.

Anyway, I was told that mixing around 3 gallons of 110 octane and have the rest with standard Super Unleaded (which in this case, is 93 Octane here in NY) is the right mix. Anything more could burn out the Catalytic Converter. Is this about right?

Anyone ever put in 110 Octane in their E60? If so, what was the ratio you mixed it with and what was the standard Super Unleaded Octane you mixed it with (91, 93, etc.)?

I heard the difference in the way the car runs is AMAZING, especially if you have a car that's been remapped.

In other words C's putting his car on steroids for about a week!!! LoL Let me know how it goes..

I didn't even know they had octane levels that high. I don't know much about fuel mixing ratio's and proper octane, but why would they sell 116 if it was gonna f&^% up your car Maybe you should try a couple gallons of that mixed with your 93.

Post the results brotha!

SMG353 did 110 Octane in his 545. He put in 3 Gallons with a 1/4 tank of Super (93). I don't think I'm going to do 116. That's pushing it.

However, he said the car was a totally different beast with 110. Too bad it costs around $9-$10/Gallon.

ive heard about some putting straight 100 octane in. I followed VT doing 1/2 91 and 1/2 100 before and once in a while. havent heard of anyone doing 110 until I read that.

make sure its unleaded, Some union 76's have 100 or 105 at the pump. the ECU wont know what to do with the higher octane unless its told...meaning a tune is in order. here is a mixing chart

I used to run 116 on my DSM and Supra TT at the track. Made a huge difference, but then I gain I needed to, I was running crazy boost. Not sure if I would tempt this on my E60. If anything, maybe a few gallons of 100 mixed with 93. Cany any experts chime in?

I'm going with 110 Octane. I'm going to mix 3 gallons of it and have the rest of my tank filled with standard 93 octane. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Go for it.

First time around to see how yoru car react, go with 3 gallon, about $30, adn fill the rest with 93 oct.

Just to see how your car handles it. See if you like it, I am sure you will.

Then the next step would be 1/2 with 110 and half 93.

The question is, can it handle 116 oct. mixed with 93?

Anyone know
Enjoy the smooth shifting and the quick acceleration......

Just think, your actually cleannig yoru injectors at the same time
