I found a hidden menu on the HUD. To access that you need to:

1. Put your engine running
2. Press the HUD button and hold it till it appears the menus list in the HUD
3. Press the HUD button till 19 menu and hold it in this menu till it appears a second list on the right of the menus list with "Lock: on" and below of this "Code: --"
4. Press again the HUD button till you get the sum of the 5 last numbers of your vin (same as for cluster hidden menus), and hold the HUD button in that number till that second list disappear
5. Now you unlock all the menus. To select one, hold the HUD button till the second list appears and to go back to the menus list do the same thing, hold the HUD button till the second list disappear.

Almost the same process, because in the cluster to enter in the sub-menus you choose the menu and then it will enter automatically in the sub-menus after 2-3secs, and in the HUD you need to select the menu and then to hold the button to enter in the sub-menus. There are also different menus in the HUD and the language is the one that you selected in the i-drive. So you dont need to understand german to surf in the HUD menus.

No real use if I remember correctly. This secret menu was posted here a while ago and I'm pretty sure it was deemed useless to the end user...

You can't add anything to the HUD display -- hopefully BMW will add those types of things one of these days...
