Default Help with Wheel & Tire selection

Hey Guys,

Looking to replace the current Style 135M wheels on my 535i M-Sport. Mostly set on Forgestar CF5V's, but not on finish.

Current tires on the car are 245/40-18s or 245/45-18s. I'm thinking about sticking with 18"s since I'll be doing some HPDEs, but depending on my stance, I will go 19"s if necessary.

I believe sticking with 19x8.5 up front would allow me to fit 245 or 255s up front, and going with 19x10 in the rear will allow me to fit at least 275s in the rear, which will help with traction significantly.

I'm also looking to get coilovers, but not planning on lowering the car much more than it is now, maybe half an inch at the most, since it's already lower than the M5 by itself.

Right now I'm just stumped on how wide I can go in the back and in the front, while leaving me with room for lowering without the need of running spacers. I also do not like stretching tires just to give me that extra saftey on the track.

My goal is 295-305 in the rears and 245-265 in the front while leaving enough clearance if at all possible, I'll also settle with a 275 - 295 setup in the rear if that allows me more options on track tires, which it seems like it does.

Not sure what offset I'll need....

Currently looking at PSS, Nitto NT05s, R888s, and RS3's

If you're wanting anything bigger than 275 in the rear, you're going to have to roll your fenders. I tried putting 285's on my 535i with sport package, and it rubbed like crazy.

typical 19" setups we've done for an E60 would be 19x9 and 19x10, recommended sizes of 245 in front and 275 in the rear (some did choose to go with 285 for the wider look but as stated above it may cause rubbing, which could be cured with rolled fenders)

What about 18" wheels, would I be able to go any wider? The 704 suspension is lower than the typical sport package, in fact, should be lower than M5.

Wondering if I should look into coilovers to see if I can fit wider wheels or create a better "stance" while gaining better agility for the track.

18, 19, or 20 won't matter, it is the width of the tire that matters. 275 fits, 285 or wider will need to have the fenders rolled.

I ordered 10.5" rears for mine, thinking the 285 would fit. Now I've got the 275 on there, and they stretch just a tad. I was really wanting to go wider, but I'm not comfortable rolling my fenders.

Is running 275 on 10.5" a safe stretch? I don't want to stretch to prevent sacrificing saftey, but don't plan on rolling fenders just yet as I'm not sure if 275 will offer me enough traction, while going with 10.5" will allow me the ability to go wider a tad if I need it in the future.
