I am replacing the rear Dunlops on my 550i. Tires that came with are Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST 275/35/18 95Y DOT 4905.
I found a good used pair however they are 95W and DOT 0508.

Tirerack only sells the 95W. Discount tires actually sells both! The only difference listed is the 95Y is a 280AA tire and the 95W is a 280AB tire. EDIT: I see the "Y" is a higher speed rated tire.

I assume these tires I found will work just fine, correct?

Also, can a local tire shop have no issues replacing with the TPMS etc?

Lastly, I assume all tires are the same and there are not left/right tires? Trying to do the mechanics in my head given these are unidirectional and have an Outside also.

Just covering my bases, thx.

why do you want to replace with dunlop?? dunlop runs down really quickly as you see numer 280... AA means traction is a and temperature is A.

it shouldnt matter that much but i wont recommand dunlop since they will be expensive also..

local tire shop shouldnt have any issue replacing with the tpms.. it is just same as regular valve step... just find a place that has touchless one that wont scratch your wheels..

well about direction .. depends on tires.. go look at your current tire and see if it says outside or direction in certain way..

I plan on replacing the rears with used dunlops to match the fronts...figure they will all need replacing at about the same time. Then I can get a different complete set.

I found a used pair with 6/32nds (60%) for under $100 each delivered.

My only concern now is the tires age. I see the DOT rating means these used tires were manufactured in Dec of 2005. My current tires are Feb 2008 tires.

Are 4 year old tires too old?

you dont have to match front and rear tire.. as long as it is same kind on front or rear you are fine.

my tires never been more than a 2 years old...

For everyday driving - no, as long as they don't show signs of dry rotting.
