Help With Miro 19" or 20"?
Hi,
I have a 2005 525i on regular suspension. I think its time for me to upgrade my wheels. I'm still running on stock 16's and they look horrible. I'm planning to get the Miro 111 but i'm still undecided whether i should go for the 19's or 20's. The 20's look like the perfect size and the 19's look at tad bit too small based on the pictures i see on the net. My friends have been discouraging me though to get the 20's because the roads here have a lot of pot holes and speed bumps. They feel that 20's are too big and the tires might rub a lot. They also said that the ride would change dramatically if i go for 20's and thats one of the things i love most about my car.
It would be nice see how they would look in person, unfortunately they don't sell the Miro 111 in my country (Philippines). I'm planning to purchase the wheels from the States and have my brother send them here.
What are the things i should look out for? And what are your opinions on the 19's or 20's based on my setup and situation? Is there any upgrade that i could do to make the ride quality close to stock without spending much, like lowering springs?
I would love to see more E60's with the 19" Miro 111's so if anyone has a similar setup feel free to post them.
Hope to hear from you soon and thanks in advance!

20s on stock non-sport suspension is going to make your car look like a wagon from the 1800s in my opinion. I don't even think I'd put 19s on a car without lowering it. To each his own though.

The truck or wagon look can be fix with simply lowering the car. I'm sure lowering the car will be one of your next future mod, so just go with 20's and be done with. Otherwise, if you get 19's you'll always stare at your car and wish you had 20's.

If the roads are decent where you live then 20's. If not then it might be better to go with 19's so you can get a little more rubber between you and the road. However like what KyleB said not dropping the car a little it will look different. If your cool with that then go for it.

I put 20s on my car and very glad i didnt go with 19s, so id say definitely go for 20s with a little bigger sidewall on the tires, your speedo will be off slightly but worth the extra protection on the rims and comfort wise.
Like others said though you will definitely want to lower the car at least on springs or it will look kind of silly, imo.

E60 530i With 20" Miro 111's
Here's mine with the 20" Miro 111's. I also have H&R Springs. I have the Escort 9500i radar detector and when I set cruise control, I notice the speeds are the same. The Miro wheels look nice, IMHO
