Guys I need some help! I've recently discovered I have a valve stem leak in my right front tire. I pulled it off and checked it for debris and everything. I usually have to put air in it once every 2-3 days.

So here's the deal. I took it to Firestone and they said they didn't have the part for it. Then, I took it to BMW and they said they couldn't fix it. Does this make sense??? I have Hartge wheels on there. I thought though that when you change tires you change the valve stem as well? The valve stems for this set of wheels isn't unique is it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert on wheel mods but I'm pretty sure that valve stems can vary from wheel to wheel due to the style of the rim, etc.

If you have Hartge wheels, can't you locate a replacement stem from a Hartge dealer (or someone else that would carry this type of thing?)

I'm sure some of the wheel & mod experts will chime in here but for now, it makes sense that BMW isn't going to have the part in stock if it's not a stock wheel...

Odd I never knew rims had their own special valve stem. Any place that can do tires should be able to replace it. I'd give Tirerack a call and ask them for assistance.
