Default Help converting to paddle shift steering wheel

So I have a 08 535xi. I am looking to install a paddle shifter steering wheel. I bought a standard paddle shifter steering wheel from another 535.. it has the +/- on each shifter. I spoke briefly with a guy from motive mods and he told me what i have is a LCI. My car has the round airbag and sport mode in the shifter just no sport mode button.

Motive mods said I need to buy the kit to install the wheel. However, the kit costs a whopping $499.99 just for a basic install kit. They said the kit consists of wiring harness and a supposed module. 500 bux for a harness and some module seems outrageous. There has to be another way. I can handle wiring in a harness or heck even bypassing a harness all together.

Can someone please help me out on this one?

Have you figured this out yet. Im trying to do the same thing. Burger Tuning have a kit for the e90 for $149.99. I wonder if that can be used for the e60.

Don't bother. I have paddle shifters on my Z4, used them a couple times. I always use the regular shifter in sport mode. DONT waste any money on this modification, you'll be very disappointed.

I want them but would not trade my steering wheel heater for paddles, since this is the only way to go on LCI.
