help building my 5
Hey guys im trying to build my 2008 535i to get around 420 RWHP how can i do that? i know im probably gunna order the cobb and i got a section 3 exhaust on the way what else can i do? i dont suppose that Cobb has the ability to be dyno tuned by a dyno guy right? any help would be appreciated.

I believe there is a turbo upgrade available. If 535i and 335i uses the same turbo then i am 100% positive about the turbo upgrade.
Best way to add HP to forced induction engine
1. Downpipe
2. Exhaust
3. Intake
4. Turbo
5. Intercooler
6. Tune
7. Alcohol/Meth injection
8. Better flowing manifold
Beyond this point, you wanna make sure ur engine can handle the power. On volvos their biggest weakness was cylinder sleeves; they tend to crack. Solution M.I.D. Sleeves

1. what brands and how much?
2. full exhaust? or run catless?
3. DCI?
4. get a bigger turbo?
5. dont we have to relocate something?
6. CObb or JB4?
Turbo upgrade - its just bigger compressor wheel inside the same housing

downpipe

Tune - not sure JB4 might be a good choice ( the important thing is to find a tuner who has the TUNE for the mods you are planning to do, or can dyno tune your car - every car is different and without knowing the actual A/F chart you dont wanna just slap on standard of the shelve tune
Exhaust - catless is better but gotta find a solution for the check engine light
You need intercooler - I dont think there is any aftermarket intercooler available for 535i, 335is and 135s have plenty. I think 535i has dual purpose intercooler to cool power steering too.
now if u are a true baller, get an LSD with a diff gear ratio.
u might need bigger injectors too depending on how much air ur sucking in.
thanks guys, nice! yeah we have those dual purpose intercoolers that are really small. but as for exhausts can i just take out my cats and run straight through to my section three and use the cobb to clear the codes?
the exhaust piping on e60, at least on 530i, is pretty straight and easy. If you can find an exhaust shop, have them make a complete 3 inch or 4 inch straight pipe. The biggest hp killer is your first cat right by the manifold. But removing that is definitely going to trigger a check engine light. Now on most of the cars you can eliminate the check engine light, caused by a/f sensors, by proper tune, or you can use o2 sensor eliminator which moves the sensor away from the pipe, kind of like a spacer, to eliminate the check engine code.
BMWs might be more bitchier and sensitive, when it comes to messing around with sensors.
if I were you, given it is a 535i, these are the things i would do:
Downpipe
Exhaust, remove the mid cat.
intake
Tune
and be done with it. you should have more than enough power you need for street driving.
