Default Help! Active steering fault/inactive

Fit some 20's to my 525i now I'm getting active steering fault, active steering inactive, drive control system fault. OBD2 cable came today hoping someone can help me out and this can be fixed with some coding?
Thanks in advance guys

Hmm try this:

Turn your car on all the way
Turn steering wheel all the way to the left
Turn it back all the way to the right
Turn it back to the center
Turn car off
Turn it back on and see if the error still appears

It's supposed to calibrate the steering angle sensor I think, but it cleared the active steering error when I had it.

Relax! The dealer will say its a $3,500 fix. new steering angle sensor and new active sway bars. Go to M5 board and look at the DIY section for active steering fix. Takes 45 min to take off the wheel and clean the optic lens in the wheel. Very easy to do.

Yeah the re-calibration didn't work. Ok thanks ill get onto it and check it out. Yeah dealers are rouges I know I used to work for one (not BMW) I'd rather stick in an aftermarket deck and texta over the fault light on the dash before handing money to them

Did you read the whole DIY? You disconnected the battery, grounded yourself, and when reinstalling you did a full left to right to center? I have done 3 now and all have worked.

Followed the whole DIY for the E60, never said anything about grounding yourself, did you go off the DIY for the E90? Yeah did the recalibration afterwards, didnt work. Have the ones you've done been the Laser type like in the DIY, or the brush style like mine?

Check your Power Steering fluid level. No joke. All these systems run on CHF11S and if its starving fluid you can get weird codes. After that's checked, ensure you have run reinitialization on both AFS and ARS seperately and successfully
