I know the pic shown is for LCI, but i just want to upgrade it to the climate control for pre-lci, just couldnt find a pic of the other controls

It's not only the control that's different, the whole air condition system is different.
But if I remember it right, someone on this forum modded only the control panel into his standard air-conditioning system.
I hate my washing machine knobs too BTW.

I actually bought the upgrade heater off Ebay for £10 to see if I could just change it, but there is a different plug in the back that won't fit. Seems the complete air conditioning system is upgrade not just the controller. But BMW charge about £500 just for the controller never mind the other bits, so don't think anybody as ever bothered to try. Although it crossed my mind a few times if I could only adapt the upgrade knobs onto mine, as the BMW basic one looks like it came from a 1970 Austin Allegro. :-)

you can't unless you change the entire AC system out. there are a LOT of modules that play in with that. So yes it's possible but it will cost you an enourmous amount of $

Ok, cheers for the input guys, thats that idea put to the bottom of the pile! Just wanted to get rid of those dull "washing machine" knobs
