I have read a few topics where people have changed steering wheels, but they were all changing to sport wheels. I bought a heated standard wheel for $30 with all buttons and plugs. Now, will I only need the heated steering wheel button or are there more parts or coding needed? Thanks.

Well I believe the botton is part of the steering column so you may have to replace that part and run wires as well in order to make the heated option work. I'm not sure that cading would be needed.

You need more parts than you think.

And the SZL.
At the moment I have everything installed except the SZL and it stays on just for 20 seconds: it needs the correct SZL, with more power.

So, it might be more trouble than it's worth? When I saw the steering wheel so cheap, i had to jump on it, but can always sell it if retrofitting is too costly.

If you decide you dont want to deal with it.

Ill keep you in mind if I decide to not use it. How long does the heat stay on? I know seat heaters usually turn off after awhile, at least my wife's car does. If the heated steering wheel could stay on for 20 seconds, that's almost as much time as it needs to warm up I would assume. Not like you need it heated for a long time since your car would be warmed up. At least that's my opinion.

The heated wheel stays on for at least 1/2 hour on my car maybe more but thats as long as I have used it. It would need more then 20secs to get nice and warm.

Well, you could always press it again. I know that's a pain, but if it means saving $4-500, I would be happy with it. Its better than what I had.

plus you will need coding on the (new) SZL and CAPPL module.
