My Ride: E60 530i 2004
Default

Hey guys,I've got a 2004 530 and I'm in the middle of replacing the standard highline kit to the M5 bodykit(would omit the M5 badge though). My question is,as we were removing the front bumpers<I noticed that there was a kinda nozzle just beneath the headlights and I presume it's the headlight washer. Now how do you get this thing to activate?I called a guy at BMW and he he told me to try pushing the wiper control stalk away from you(the opposite of what you have to do to get your wiper washers to work.the problem is,I don't seem to feel any space to move it.Could it be that my version does not come with these headlight washers?and if that is so,why even provide these nozzles? Thanks guys

I don't know about the 2004 but on a 2007 and up they are activated by turning on your headlights and using the windshield washer control.

And yes, the headlight switch needs to be on as well. Anyone know how to deactivate them while keeping the lights on? I mean, who needs headlight washers in San Diego? And when they come on, the spray deflects off the headlights and gets all over the hood of the car.
