I know this may be late in the game to answer your questions but I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago so therefore I am answering it for any future people inquiring.

#1 or 63116933241 (see attached picture # 1) is for three little rubber tabs that most headlights have. I always thought that they were for letting out moisture (like the condensation you see in some lights) but the website where I found the pictures described them as just helping align the headlight in its housing.

#18 or 63126941478 (see attached picture #2) is a repair kit that repairs the main large mounting tabs on your headlight. These break in cases of accidents or if someone presses too hard on your headlight. It was designed to break during collision with a pedestrian from what I've read. IDK WHY!? maybe so they feel as if they did something back to your car? (JK actually I think it does less damage to someone if you were to hit them) Anyways, to sum it up you can use these (and the included screws) to go in place of the old headlamp clips. I am going to post a DIY on this forum for this tab repair later today or tomorrow if I get a chance since nowhere on the internet has one!!! SO ANNOYING cause I think you might have to cut part of the bumper...

Anyways, I digress... I hope this helps to answer any questions.

NOTE: I got the pictures from ECS Tuning's website. I don't endorse them. However, I have ordered the tabs from there myself. They were helpful but I got F#&%*@ over by a combo of ECS and UPS over shipping costs since I shipped it to my home in Canada. Dunno if it was just a lack of knowledge or communication on ECS's part or just UPS being UPS (ie. shitty). Anyways ECS refused to compensate me for the cost of brokerage (which I was under the impression would be included). Otherwise they were helpful. IF YOU ARE ORDERING TO SHIP FROM US TO CANADA USE USPS INSTEAD (that way even if it takes longer you avoid the brokerage fees)

I have the same repair issue. Do you have to cut off the existing broken tabs on the headlamp to install this kit?

You have to file off (or cut off) the old remaining part of the broken tab until it sits flush with the rest of the headlamp and so that the new one can fit overtop of it. There are two small screw holes (one on either side of the old tab) which the new tab repair kit will fit over and screw into to hold in in place. Then it will function just as the old one did (except for being a little bit wider to accommodate the new screws/screw holes). Take a look at the pictures I posted and if you have any other questions I can answer them for you. (with pictures if need be)

Definitely DON'T try to plastic weld or use 3m products! Although they may work in the short term, from my experience they tend to get brittle and crack and break very easily. It also takes more time and will be a headache when you have to go back and fix it later on again. Just IMO.

The technical name for #6 is a "headlight gasket". If you live in the states you should expect to pay 15-20 dollars for this part. If you're buying from a dealership try to offer them 25 or 30 max including taxes and everything. Just know that they probably pay closer to 15 dollars for it.

Hope this helps.

For a complete list of what those parts are and how much they cost from BMW of south atlanta go to: (or any other site with similar diagram)
Individual parts for halogen headlamp. Fits: 2004 BMW 5 Series (E12,E28,E34,E39,E60,E61) 545i Sedan | BMW of South Atlanta
