Is this part of the headlight or is there a way to remove this tab?

That does not look like it's part of the headlight.

It can be popped out (up) easily.

So the whole tab detaches from the headlight? I am looking at buying headlights but they don't have this. Also one of mine are broken anyway.

It will pop up easily....Just wedge a small screwdriver on it and it comes out!!

iguess there was a recall on them cause they brake when someone slams the hood. just got mine replaced under it when i noticed they were both broken.
