I want to install an intake on my 525i. I read this article and believe i can do it. I was reading there is a air sensor compatability issue. Will this intake work or will i have problems???? Please let me know...

1. The picture you see is taken from an E39 I think. The E60 has a different intake system and changing it could really lid to some problems.

2. I don't see what advantage you could possibly gain with the intake of hot air since the intake system is placed in the engine compartment. I installed a K&N sport filter on my previous E39 525i and I haven't noticed any increase in performance, just a slightly different engine noise (louder).

So before spending some extra money you should check with an engine expert, possibly a friend of yours that can honestly tell you the truth about what are the real benefits (if there are some) of that sort of intake system.

Try K&N, they have intakes and filters for BMW's.
For the diesel engines they have filters too.
