One of the features I was very excited about in my 08 was HD radio. For $350 I think this is a no brainer of an option. HOWEVER, I would say that 20-25% of the time, I do not get an HD signal when I should. The other day my normal FM station worked fine with HD, but my normal AM station would not pick up HD at all. I've seen the reverse as well. I also get more static on FM than I remember in my 06 550 (when I get static, I do not get HD signal).
SA has ordered me a new antenna (or said they did, never heard bunk).
But I'm curious if others have had reception problems with this.

It's hard to say if your problem is beyond "normal" -- HD signals do sometimes drift in and out but if you think yours is doing it too often, then clearly checking the antennas and their connections would be a good idea. Remember that the FM and AM antennas are in the rear window, not the shark fin so if the dealer ordered you a new "antenna", unless he ordered you a new rear window, its likely he's clueless... ![Whistling](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/whistling.gif)
You can learn (and teach your dealer) more about the antenna by looking here:

I think that the diagram Rudy posted clearly shows where the aerials are, no?
