I have a 07 non-sport 525i. I want to lower it .7", exactly the same amount as the OEM sport suspension. Before you say get coilovers, which are out of my price range, I have come up with a question. In theory it should work...

Can I mount Eibach Pro Lines for the 545i and 550i's to my 525i? The springs rate should be higher to accomodate the added weight of the V8's. Meaning, the lesser weight of the 525i wouldn't cause a drop of the advertised 1.2" F and R. Hopefully it would drop it at around 3/4 to 1" or so. Does this sound right? Are they compatible? Think it would be a rough ride?

I wouldn't run improper spring rates just to get a particular ride height i'm looking for. Why are you afraid of using the correct Eibach sportlines? The difference between sportlines and OEM sport springs are so minor to me. 1/2 an inch lower may make or break your front bumper from being scraped if your car is slammed, but not at the height you would be at

So you have non sport but want to use the sport springs? I've been thinking about the same thing, any idea why it wouldn't work without replacing my shocks?

Yes, the sport springs will work fine with the non-sport shocks.
