Hey guys, a buddy of mine is getting a great deal on tires and the rear tire size is 285/30/19, front is standard 245/35/19 for his 2008 550i???

Will the 285 work VS the 275???? The rims are 19X9.5 Style 172...

Thanks.

He was thinking about putting spacer... a 15MM spacer in the rear... Current ET 32... would bring the offset to M range ET17

i put 285/30/19s on my ET32 19x9.5 style 128s on saturday. I had 12mm spacers on there, and i could barely fit a piece of paper between the fender and the tire when the suspension is compressed. (I parked it on a small mound so I could get the suspension to load up.)

I wasn't comfortable with the space, and the thought of having the sidewalls of my $400/each tires shredded because I wanted the car to look 'cool' meant the spacers had to go. either that or roll the fenders, something I wasn't particularly fond of doing either.

PS2s aren't particularly broad shouldered for their size, I would imagine a tire with beefier edges would have definitely rubbed the fender.
