The topic says it all. I just found out about this mod and I'm thinking of getting it. Has anyone else had it done or thinking of getting it done?

supposedly the new engine management software BMW (91.XXX) installs will log the mod and BMW will void your engine warranty. You may want to check the e90 forums. A lot of the owners over there have done mods. The Dinan one Is pretty good , yes expensive, but it comes with a warranty that they back any thing that BMW won't. I have heard of some issues with the proceed, but it is not really hard to find if you search a couple forums ( like theirs, and the e90).
You may want to watch the install vid, and then you may think twice about it. It's not that easy an install/uninstall if you have to take it in for work.
AVOID the Juice box , there are some horror stories about it on N54's

Even easier to install, is the Split Second Turbo Tuner. Less hp than Procede, but has been proven to work on new ecu and software. Non-detectable.
Turbo Tuner is the safest route, just take it off before service dates. Plugs into the tmap sensor, no need to get into the ecu.

I'm in agreeement with bigbadbull here. I think the Dinan the way to go, I am considering getting it done. I know the thread on what Dinan does/doesn't do has been spoken about ad nauseum, but my dealer does the work on the Dinan package. I keep tabs with one of the techs there who had the mod done on his car and so far/so good.
Dinan:
"Vehicles equipped with the MSD v81.0 DME are not yet supported. For the most part, the production date break appears to be 3/08, however this is not an absolute so it is best to check the DME label."
Also if you are not going all Dinan, I wouldn't get it. The best way to void your Dinan warranty is to mis-match aftermarket parts.

sooooo..... the e60's and e90's should not be far away.

Just to let people know, the Dinan software does not work with the new DME.
Dinan:

If you just get the ECU flash, no problems. Make sure your dealer where you service your car is an authorized Dinan dealer, it will make things a lot easier. Just don't get tempted down the road to add a non-Dinan performance part, that will void the Dinan warranty.
