Hey, i have been offered a set of hartge alloys, but i know the offset is not within the reccomended for an e60, front is 8j et 40, could i use this alloy with say a 20mm spacer? would it have any negative effect on the car? the rears are fine with an offset of 22, Thanks.

You don't want to run 20mm spacers up front....more than likley vibration issues will occur. I had problems on my M5 with 12mm spacers in the front....and I even had problems with my rear 12mm spacers on the 550i.

20mm spacers up front are fine as long as you get the right ones. i currently have the eibach spacers in 20 mm up front that are made specifically for bmw. they spacers actually bolt up to the hub, and the wheels bolt up to the spacers. no vibration whatsoever.

No problems here.

I run 20MM spacers on my front snows and 15MM spacers on my BBS fronts. No problems. Saved me a ton of money not having to buy a new snow tires set up and allowed me to use my BBS LM's (bought for an M3) on my E60. I use H&R spacers.
