hey Guys i managed to get a carbon fiber roundel instead of the plain blue and white one. Any one ever pull it off? i have my replacement badge here but im afraid it takes more than just prying it off with a phillips.

Thanks guys.

My steering wheel badge got scratched on my '00 740i and the dealer said I'd have to replace the whole piece (including the airbag)--not sure if it's the same on an E60.

Not sure- but I'd be interested in seeing a picture of the carbon fibre roundel.

You might want to disconnect the battery first, so you don't end up with a face full of airbag!

Since the badge is where the airbag comes out, I would want to stick something on there wrongly and have it hurt someone when the airbag deploys

Ha ha!
If we don't hear from you for a while Kriston, we know you're in hospital with a concussion!

Just kidding!

Please post pics when done.

i don't think you have to replace the whole thing. i kind of remember i've seen a pic of a member here showing his steering wheel w/o the badge. some other also said if you punch the badge hard enough, it'll be bent easily.

well i didnt get around to it sucks when yah got a ton of other things to do. This weeks going to be fun though i will get the rims for it on tuesday (ups delivery date) probably wednesday i'll put em on.

And i will post pics of the badge and the wheels.

I was playing with the badge with a precision phillips and it looks as if its just stuck on with 3m double sided tape. As the edges but up quite easily.
