Can't decide which GPS to purchase. I like the sleek thin look of the Garmin's. But have also heard good things about Magellan. Will go to electronics store to demo both. What are your experiences with them and which one do you recommend?? Thanks.

I have a Garmin from 2003 (Street Pilot 2610) and LOVE it still. Used in Europe for 2.5 years and now in US for anothr year. Very intuitive and GArmin gives regular s/w updates to keep it current. I'm a big Garmin fan....their machine is light years beyond the navi in the BMW!

try www.atomicgps.com for a good deal. They helped me and several friends find exactly what they needed.

I got the Mio c310x. Works perfect. It's hackable too. Runs under windows CE and you can actually do a lot of mods to it like watching movies or playing games. You can even customize skins. You can get it at fry's or Circuit City for $199. It is comparable to nuvi 350 ( Size and capabilities as a gps).

Check this forums to know more about the gps

Get a Garmin, from what I've seen in the demo's, processing is much faster compared to Magellan. And the design is ++.

I don't know about a Garmin or Magellan, I purchased a Tom Tom One, it works great. When I power up it almost an instant connect with 6 sats. I have no complaints, I also get free GPSQuickfix data download at least once a week when I connect to Tom Tom Home Page. I'm sure the others are just a good, I guess its just ones own preference.

I got the Garmin Nuvii 660 for one of my other cars and I love it. Its actually so much better than the BMW navigation system.

If you live in the US get Garmin. Garmin Nuvi 350 is fast and accurate. Costco had it for $350 but run out of stock in a few days. So i believe the prices for the nuvi 350 will be falling soon from other online stores. If you like the wider screen get the nuvi 660 but it runs for almost twice the $$$ of the nuvi 350.
