It's against the law everywhere. It's pretty difficult to get caught, though.
I have had it on the last 4 cars I have owned, and never been caught. I've been pulled over numerous times when I had it... for speeding, but they never noticed the tint.

I can get a prescription to tint the windshield, but would never do it. It cuts down on night vision which can be pretty critical if I am moving along. I opt for sunglasses instead to maximize night vision.
