I just discovered one of my front Good Year tire is starting a bulge at the sidewall. It is only a quarter size in diameter and maybe 5-8mm pregnant. I am not the orig. owner and only owned for less than a thousand miles. I plan on going to the dealer to have them look at it, but am not holding out much help from them. I anticipate I will be shopping for tire(s) soon because of it.

Anyone experience this with their oem Good Years?

I have never run the Good Year. I have ALWAYS run either Michelin PS2's or Pirelli PZero Rosso... Both brilliant tires, just a little expensive, but worth it. Probably advise the PS2's over the PZeros.

Getting a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus this afternoon. Have you tried them? They are a little less expensive but have better tread wear rating with the same traction rating... Just curious.

Sorry for the thread jack.

I haven't tried those mate, no. Only the PS2. But if those ones have better tread wear rating, then definitely go for them! That's the only downfall of the PS2's... They tend to wear pretty quickly; dependant on driving style of course!

I don't know if road hazard warranty it transferable from one owner to the next, but it's worth a shot.

Just over a week ago I replaced my OEM Dunlops with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus's. All I can say is WOW. The ride is so much smoother and no more tire noise!

No experience with the PS2 but had the PZero on my Boxster before. Good tires but had to replace them every 20K miles or less but that was normal for the Boxter though so I don't know how it will be for E60. . I too will need new set of tires once those run-flats are done.

Yeah I found that with the PZero too. Tires didn't last much past 12,500 to be fair. Rears a little less

Goodyear makes a great tire. I had RSAs on my 3er and loved the long wear, albeit a bit on the stiff side compound-wise. What you are experiencing could be a manufacturing flaw or road damage, most likely the latter. More than likely, you're looking at replacing out of your pocket, unfortunately.

So far they seem ok.. yes a little stiff in ride. Wear pattern looks ok. Are the Michelin AS a RFT? Heard good things about them, figure I should replace both fronts to have consistant grip... Not looking forward to the cost for RFT though. Will ask at the dealer though. Can't hurt.

Are the Goodyears you have now RFT's? You don't have to put RFT's on the car, many have made the swap...
