So, I've finally finished spraying my grilles black (thanks to Tbal) and installing them (thanks olli_535d). I'm planning on installing the shadowline trim also and always preferred the M5 glossy black ones. Would it be possible to spray a laquer based clear coat to make it glossy? Same thing goes for matte black grilles- has anyone just sprayed clear coat on them to make them glossy?

I also sprayed my license plate frame black and clear-coated that as well. Will post pics of everything soon as I'm finished.

So many Shadowline threeads this week. It would take a lot of clear coat. I may try it myself or use high gloss vinyl.

Can't you just order Glassy shadow line trim from Gary @ Newport BMW?

Yeah, but the glossy SLT is around $500. Just can't justify spending that much. I'm probably just going to get matte SLT from Garry for $200.

Looks great! Can't wait to see the SLT. That is going to change the look of the entire car.

Was it easy to paint the grills, how many coats did you spray? And what paint did you use? I tried the duplicolor plastic spraypaint on mine and didn't like the endresult, maybe because I never used any clearcoat? Thanks man.
