My 2004 530i has the sport package. does this mean it's lowered already? can I get away with installing 20" rims with the car just the way it is? If the car rides too high, what do I do to fix that?

There are a couple of cars on the board that have 20s. I think they were 525 non-sport. They had to install lowering springs. With the sport pack you might be able to get away without the springs.

Here's a link to a search of "springs" on the board. There's several threads about springs.

Here's one good thread to take a look at.

Welcome to the board,

If you have the sport package, and you want 20's, the last thing you will need to do is lower it. Be careful, don't go with cheap wheels. I have a 545 w/ sport package take a look in the members gallery mine is the last gallery Bark41. 20's look insane on the car, but make sure the offset is absolutly correct or they will rub!!!!

welcome aboard, tyronebankz ! sport pkg is a bit lower than non sport. i personally think if you add the 20" rims, no lowering is needed. otherwise it'll be a bit bumpy and rough :'(. but that's just me.

I'm going to leave it stock and see how it looks with the rims on. From looking at Bark41's ride it looks like I should be fine since I have the sport package. Thanks people!

Post some pics when your new rims are installed. We look forward to it. Put your location in your profile. It helps.

What do you think of the forums! Pretty good, huh?
