Hi

Just bought brand new OEM m172 on ebay for 2000 euro - pretty good?

Anyway - winter is coming here in Denmark, so it will be another 4 months before I can actually mount them

But! I was thinking if I will need to drop the car lower? I do not want to compromise comfort too much, so is there a m-tech set of springs that would be doing a reasonable job - maybe 20mm?

Thanks,
Thomas.

Alot of guys here are using eibach sport springs which will have a close to stock ride comfort and give you a little more then an inch drop.

ok - how about clearance? Any experience from people in countries with snow? I dropped my e39 with Eibachs - but I think those were 35-40mm - that ended up with me being the snow plow on way to work

Do you already have a sport suspension or are you on non-sport suspension?

why not just invest in a set of coilovers so you can adjust the ride height according to season (as it sounds like this is a big concern of yours). KW's V2 coilovers have been reported to have as good (some say better) ride comfort/feel to OEM sport suspension...

I think I would prefer a fixed setting - having the option to adjust would have me making adjustments endlessly. :-)

Anyway - the real reason for me asking in the first place was to know if the car would look weird with the 19" rims and no drop?

Thanks for all the responses!

Right.

I used to have a non-sport, but when I upgraded from 18" to 19" wheels I wanted to drop it. Now I have KW Street Comfort coilover set dropped to OEM sport suspension hight. Works perfectly even in snow. Eibach Pros will lower approximately 1cm more, I think.
