I've had the rims for a while but not the tires and was going to put them on near the end of the year. But yesterday I found a nail in my runflat and decided it was time, so ordered a new set of Sumitomo HTR Z III's from TireRack and they're here already so I'm getting everything installed tomorrow.
I'm excited and nervous and hope everything turns out OK. I had hope to get 2 of the wheels refinished but need to get this done this week and will have to refinish later.
Will put pics up as soon as I can.

Congrats! I remember you were looking for 172's for a while, now you have tires too. Should look nice.
Just be careful in SF with all those potholes

Taylor: Am going to this shop that was rated high on TireRack called Advance Auto Repair in Potrero Hill. Will let you know how it turns out.

I have 172s, the sure look good when it's nice and clean.
My advise, get a really well-made wheel brush, and lots of Q-tips to clean those hard to reach corners

I don't have 172s anymore but when I did I found the fastest way to clean them was a wooden chopstick - take a soft terry cloth and drape it over the chopstick. Perfect size to slide between and clean...fast and efficient

Good luck! In the past I've had good experiences having TireRack tires delivered to independent BMW shops in the Bay Area, like Bavarian Professionals in the East Bay and Phaedrus in SF. I think the indy shops in general are a lot more careful than dealer-affiliated service centers. Hope Advance Auto Repair does a great job on your car.
