I have them on my 530i. These are great tires. I would recommend them to anyone. A few of us started talking about these tires here a long time ago, and I have heard no bad comments. The tires are now catching on with a lot of the members.
They provide a quiet ride with good handling, especially in wet weather. They do not look cheap.
When you go to TireRack, pay special attention to the contributers who have 18" or 19" tires. Obviously, those with GE 15" tires will have a different type of tire than those with 19" tires.

I'm sure they're quite decent tires and certainly a good buy, but I'm not to sure they should be compared to high performance tires like the PS2 and whatnot. They are in the ultra high performance category for a reason, so if they were a "high-performance" tire, than they'd be rated as such.

I checked the reviews on tirerack previously and for the most part, many of the reviews come from drivers of non-sports oriented cars. I've found that unless you're exploring the limit, then most tires will offer roughly the same performance during daily driving. Rarely, if ever will you see the limit on the street, so I guess it's all for not. Even during aggressive driving, so-called "lesser" tires will do a satisfactory job.

Oh, believe you me. I'll be exploring the limits of these GE tires very soon.

hehee, call me cheap, but the GE UHP is $127 for a the 19" front and the PS2 is $330 for one tire! man I really like to try the PS2, but more than twice as much, and tread wear rating is even worse than the UHP (380 vs 220)... I guess for the ones that have 550 or M5, it may make sense to get the very best PS2, but man $1500 to change a set of tires, that just hurts the wallet.... i guess everyone have different values, but to me i don't drive that aggressively, overall it's just a nice 4 door sedan, not a true sport car. it's raining here and with my 10k miles UHP, no slipping or spinning, very stable and smooth. this tire is alot better than my crappy bridgestone turanza on my old car, better than the Yoko AVS dB S2, maybe about the same as the Yoko AVS ES100.

vegas, interested in your thoughts once you take this to the limit. what other tires did you have before and how does it compare?

The previous tires I had were Toyo T1Rs. Good traction and wear rating, but terrible in regard to rim protection.

Cmansbimmer, thanks for your comments. I've been hard at work, and out of the country a bit. The 166 OEMs are great. It seems like everyone is doing a good job to warn everyone else about the replicas. I wish I had the same warnings back then...

thanks everyone for your feedback!! tirerack has good ratings on the GE's.., but there's nothing like real-life experience(s) as stated by you guys. especially when it's from e60 owners. that's why i enjoy this forum so much, everybody helps each other out. happy motoring!
