I drove 2,220 round trip from Atlanta to NY this weekend in my '05 BMW 530i.

It thunderstormed darn heavy down in Atlanta, GA.

So hard, I said "I need new wiper blades, I can't make it back to NY with these."

So, I go to bmwusa.com and find the closest BMW dealer and ask if they'll install the wiper blades when I buy them; they said yes.

I go to the dealer and they charged me $75 + tax for a set of wiper blades.

I thought a dealer up north quoted $40, so I wonder did the dealer jack up the price on the blades 'cause of the rain or did I misunderstand the Northern dealer, was he charging $40 for one wiper blade as opposed to the set?

But other than that the car handled well on the drive; I averaged about 80mph.

A guy at my job tod me Classic BMW will charge $71 per blade- so a set of blades here in DFW will run you $140...

I said "_____ that" and threw a search pary for some aftermarket blades. I found some that were identical to the BOSCH blades that BMW uses, and they were $24.00 each. I put them on myself for $48.00..

Still about 4 times more expensive than the ANCO's on my Ford, but $48 beats $75 or $140 any day in my book.

Go to autozone, PEP Boys, O'Reilly, etc- you're bound to find them cheaper. Even if it takes a day or two to get them.

In your case (traveling) you had no choice but to eat the $75.
