Do you guys suggest to use Chevron's fuel injector cleaner Pro-Gard with Techron additive?
If yes, how often?
If yes, how often?
I could find nothing in my manual on not using additives, in fact in the link below BMW is used to evaluate the fuel injectors/ intake valve deposits.
Techron

Also, use Redline in my wife's Lexus and in my previous car (Camry V6 with 108K mi.) and have never had any fuel-related problems. Throw in a half bottle when I fill up if I detect engine hesitation or missing. Have a 530i BMW with 8400 miles on it and just started using Redline in it. I may look into the Chevron Techron fuel cleaner, however, since it's considerably cheaper than the Redline and appears to also be a good product.
We fill up both cars (Lexus & BMW) at Costco or Sam's Club/Walmart, so the gas quality is a big unknown. I'm sure the Chevron gas is better, but the price difference is substantial.

Started using Redline back in '83 on my wife's MB diesel (240D). It was the ONLY additive that eliminated the diesel "clatter", which speaks well for their products.

I've used Techron a few times a year in all my cars. Seems to work well, and I suspect it's the same stuff as the BMW gas additive they recommend at the dealerships.
Keep in mind that the bottles of Techron available at the auto parts stores is a different product than the "Pro-Guard fuel injector cleaner with Techron".

I've used Chevron Techron and Redline intermittently over the past 10 years - one or twice a year. Haven't noticed any negatives OR positives. Can't tell if it does anything because my cars run fine before and after.

I'm just going with what BMW recommends, so no injector cleaner.
