OK, silly question by the new guy...what exactly is the purpose of the front splitter. I'm getting ready to get a MTech front bumper for my 07' 550i. I've seen the splitters all over the forum...what do they do? Is it just an aesthetic play, or do they really serve a function? They look cool, just wondering if that's the only purpose....

I'm very careful with parking...but I'm afraid with the splitter that I will hit it on the stone curb thing when you pull in a parking space, that would suck! Also, are you ok to go over speed bumps...it looks pretty low?

start getting used to parking with a little distance before even getting close to the stone curb. i already have a slight scrape on my schnitzer add on and im not even as low as other members. i got used to leaving that bit of distance though. sometimes i still make sure and get out of the car first before inching closer to the curb
