Fog lamp bulb wattage?

My Ride: 2008 550i M-Sport: RPi GT Exhaust, RPi Ram-Air, GP Thunder angel eyes and fog lamps, LED license plate lamps, Full LED interior

Hi:

I tried replacing my fog lamps with the same H8 35W bulb GP Thunder 8500's that I used for my AE's, but the wiring didn't quite fit, it seems the wiring harness is 'deeper' than it was on the AE's. Then I looked at the OEM fog lamp, and it said 55W.

However, it doesn't look like GP has a 55W H8 bulb. http://www.hid-lights.com/cat/halogen-bulb-gp8500.htm

I figured all H8's would be the same? Any thoughts?

I had the 35W Gp Thunder H8 bulbs and they worked perfect. What you mean wiring harness is deeper? The GP Thunder are cheap they died last week so I got HIDS now

It appears the fog bulbs are HB4? But every replacement guide I find says to use H8's..

Anyway, pics of the two side by side. H8 is on the left in both pics.
