Hey guys, if you saw my tails after i tinted and clear coated them then here is an update. My tails had a little bit of orange peel and where dull looking. After i got glossy black badges it was begining to piss me off. I received a pm from member kadafi39 explaining what i needed to do. Thanks for the help kadafi39. I really appreciate it. No more talking needed. here are some pictures. I will post a before and after.
The after pictures: there wasnt very much light because the sun had already set. But i think you can still tell for sure. The sun will do them even more justice!
Anyone who needs help with this i used turtle wax rubbing compound, and turtle wax polishing compound. i used the rubbing compound and did the process 3 times. After the tails were smooth i moved onto the polishing compound. I polished them 4 times. Its a lot of work scrubbing and rubbing these things down. BTW i took them off the car to do it. Makes it a lot easier.
Now these are done i am 100% satisfied with my tails!!
Total cost:
tint spray - 9.00 + 8 shipping (ebay, couldnt find it at a local store)
clear coat - 5
compounds (rubbing and polishing) 6.50
total cost: $28.50

Big difference. Looks much better. Did you lose any of the "tint/smoke" look in the daylight after the polishing process? BTW, I think you should go ahead and tint the brake light also. Will blend in better the tinted windows IMO.

thanks
I agree, night and day difference.
When i was scrubbing away you could see some of the spray being sanded off. The rubbing compound and the polishing were both abrasive so it was taking a small layer off and making it smooth. I personally think it took some of the darkness out. I had 4 layers of tint spray and i think 3 or 4 clear coats.
When you said i should tint the brake light, are you talking about the 3rd one in the back window? I need to have someone press on the brake so i can see what it looks like. But the tint spray doesnt restrict much light so i dont know if there will be a huge difference. I will look into it tomorrow, too tired tonight. New mod project starts tomorrow as well!!
