My Ride: 2008 Black E61 530Xd - M-sport - Comfort - Advantage
Hello
Today I finally finished the project. It took all the evenings of two weeks to do it properly, but now when everything is reinstalled the results are remarkable. Dynamat cut almost all the road noise
Before the soundproofing, after I got the 285/30 rear tires you could easily hear quite loud noise coming from the back. Now you cant hear anything from the back, only little noise coming through the doors from the front tires...
Here´s how it went:
I started under the backseat
Then did the sides
Then the sides of the trunk all the way to the innerside of the fender. I also put some additional insulation on top of the Dynamat, you can see that behind the fusebox. I had to dismount all the electrics, fusebox etc to get all the metal surfaces done. While doing that I protected the wiring better with the tape and rerouted some of the cables because it was quite a mess
Here you can see the same thing with the batterycase. It also protects the Dynamat from wearing (not sure about the term )
Then I did the spare wheel area and finished the project
I´m very satisfied from the result since I had my doubts while sitting in the trunk doing that annoying work for so many evenings
