Ahh, Mike, actually, you ended up doing the method that I originally described long ago. I had figured this out, and "needlessly" did it this way for a LCI client, and only to realize that their wiring for unlock/lock AE turn on is much simpler.

I never got around in doing mine this way because I thought there would be that electronic phase on noise caused by the harness. Anyway, good job testing it out. And I vote for having the eyebrows turn on with the Orions as well. That's how the LCI's do it too

Dang, Mike, you're making me wanna keep the E60

Great upgrade, man! If I do decide to keep the car (again lol), I'll definitely take you up on that offer to help out

Also... I know it'll be difficult to compare unless you have it side by side, but are the eyebrow SMD's (cluster) brighter than Radio Crap's?

I am lazy, but if it is, I might get around to it and do it when I find the time.

And potentially, think it's possible to "feed" two LED's into the eyebrow part to make it brighter? (Not sure why I never thought to do this when I am doing it myself)

Dude, did I mention that one of my headlights fogs up so much now, that I'm practically convinced that whatever happens after the modding (if it does take place at all), is better than the condensation I get now

I'm not sure. I think its the same. Well the SMD light seems more controlled (not spreading out like crazy) like the pirahna Radio Shack ones.

As far as two LED rows, remember I told you what I was thinking, doing one row Amber, and one row white, so I can switch on the fly.... it is very possible. Just have to open up the holes in the headlight more to fit and then make a custom board to fit it.

I'll wire up the angel eyes tonight. BTW, I did use the Umnitza harness to help me route to the headlight easier, instead of doing the wiring myself. At least its useful for that.

I plan to try to find the Puddle light power and that'll in turn only turn on and off when u unlock the car and turn off the engine.

Thanks for the compliments guys! And Vlad... I say, get the 335i and i'll hook up your gauge to make it white. and then i can get some parts from you.

LOL I'm going today to see what's out there. So far, no deals for April are posted, so I'm not shopping "blind". Unless I get a great deal on a CPO, then it'd be awesome... eh, we'll see... the other day I was driving and caught a glimpse of my car in a reflection on a bank's window and all the troubles seemed so minor... LOL

Awesome Mike. Always at it with these lighting mods. I wish I had such patience/skill.

The Orions, and those eyebrows really look ridiculous.

Well done Mike! For auto DRL maybe you can tap from ECU wires so the AE on/off the same time w/ the engine ...
otherwise tap to the lighter but it'll be on before the engine ... I'll probably try do the ECU tap ...

Then run a wire from inside your car, from the footwell light and run it through the firewall. Slap a diode in between the wire and then wire it up the the positive port of the angel eye and you are set. Only downside I found was if you are in the car without the lights on (daytime) and if you turn on the light or open the door, the light will come on. But will go off once the light inside goes off. I'm going to find the wire that powers the puddle light to the mirrors and that'll ensure nothing turn on during the day or while the car is on. Also you can get DRL for angel eyes too. I'm just trying to figure out a switch method to use it on and off on the fly.
