Very nice!!!

What size tires did you end up with? You should upgrade your sig with the new wheel and tire info.

================================================== ===================

I ended up with Bridgestones: rear, 285-30-19 and Front, 245-35-19

======================

Thanks 'olli_535d', to Mark, and the rest here at e60. I do appreciate everyone's advice and help to my many questions I had through out the 19 inch Rim and Tire process ... yes, it was a planned project that had to be done, in order to get everything just right, (the Correct Tire Sizes, the types, run flat or non run flat, etc), but everything turned out well, with no problems, and it was well worth it. (In fact some of the e60 forum member answers are now being used at a local BMW dealer here in Atlanta GA...last month when I first approached and asked them about the 166M's they said to me first: there is no way they would ever fit a e60 non M5, that was until I showed the assistant service manager AL at the BMW dealer some e60 forum members pictures with them on theirs, and how their running well.

But to make sure, the Atlanta BMW assistant service manager, had to call Newport BMW who also backed up the e60 forum, and said hey, its true, I sold and installed over 11 sets so far. Now my Atlanta BMW dealer has mine too as another set of 166M's on a non e60 M5, but there still some there at the Atlanta BMW dealer shaking their heads in disbelief, we have a lot of "doubting Thomas's" here in Atlanta GA LOL)

In conclusion, A Sincere Thanks to all here at the e60 forum who helped me during this time of long, but needed research with my 166M's.

So You're not having any problems with the cars computer complaing about the differnt diameter between the front and rear? Flat Tire Monitor or DSC malfunctions, etc etc...

From your set up your fronts are 0.94 inches smaller than your rear making them turn about 30 revolutions more per mile than the rears are turning...

See a few months back I wanted to run 245/35/19 (f) and 285/35/19 ? and no one was able to comment if having the fronts smaller than the rear would cause a problem. (* 1.10 inch smaller *) I couldnt get a concrete answer so I never got the wheels.

If you're not having problems I might have to re look into the possibility again.

I didnt really want to run the recommended 245/35/19 (f) 275/30/19 ? before because I was afraid that the tires will not be flush with the wheel. I dont like the looks of how if the tires are narrower than the rim it looks like you're stretching the tires just to fit the rim. I was afriad of that...

But since I've seen how 245/35/19 (f) 275/30/19 ? looks on jiio's car and they look fine... so I might go with this set up.

Sorry for the typo, and good eye! I do have 285-30-19 rear, and 245-35-19 fronts,,,my tire salesman said the very same thing you did, and not go with 30s on all four wheel's or I could have problems with the DSC, so I didn't take a chance, and went with the proven tire size method here at the forum, and it works on mine well.

Ah ok. Cool thanks for the info. So why did you go with 285/30/19 over the so called BMW recommeded 275/30/19 ?

================================================== ===================
The store manager of the Kauffman tire retail store here in Peachtree City GA called Kauffman Tire corporate headquarters who in turn called BMW USA , and they said for the e60 using 19s, that BMW recommends : 275/30/19 for the rear and 245/35/19 for the fronts.

But I talked with a good friend who owns a 2004 e60 also with the 166M's, and he said the 285/30/19 in the rear will work too, but to some e60 owners the 285's looks better than the 275s, because of the 285's larger sidewall, so I went with his advice, and purchased the 285's, and so far: all is well, with no rubs, no wheel scrubs or any adversity using the 285's opposed to the BMW recommended 275's, and my 285's are doing well on my non M5. e60 530i.

As you probably already know the 285's comes stock on the M5 in the rear and 255's on the front, but I did not chance the 255's, and stayed with the safer smaller size for a non M5 the 245's)

I hope I answered your questions, and I realize this needed research is a pain to many of us, but I have done the research, and took a slight chance, and went with the 285''s on a non M5 e60 with no problems, and if I can be further help, please let me know.

Sincerely,

R. Eddie Presley
