facelift E60 LED lights installed!

I don't like the idea of "hidden bulb" because of fire hazard. When the bulb is on, it's very hot, and with movement of the car, it might burn off some wire cover and catch on fire. Someone on this forum was able to fool the LCM by using diode (Busta?). It might worthwhile to investigate that option.

I haven't received my LED lights yet and I am a little disappointed they are not plug and play. I am not electrically inclined so I was wonder if I can purchase a cable made by someone on here or can I get the cable from BMW in a few months or is Alex going to provide one for us group buyers?

The member Saridi was the guy who said the e46 cables where different but then he later confirmed that they are the same. I wonder if there are 2 cables because people on ebay seem to sells 4 cables in the e46 retrofit kit.
Here are the pics of the E46 retrofit cable. First pic is the socket that connect to the car(don't worry about the red tabs, it's for other mods), and second pic is the connector to the E46 LED taillights (ignore pin 4)

I think that we have to fit another "hidden" bulb so, the system will pass the initial light test and stop blinking

I think that the E46 had the whole unit has LED that the reason why you had more issues. In the LCI unit we have the taillight bulb already in parallel with the LEDs. The hidden bulb or resistor is only for the Turn LEDs.

I don't think Alex will be providing any cables free (or are you Alex). He said he will try and provide you a solution. As mentioned once we've confirmed the actual part number for the cable that is being used I should be in a position to supply ready modified ones to anyone interested.

and from the end that goes into the tail light--does it fit or does NOT fit?
